Imagine an Imperial Star Destroyer smashed in the desert or an AT-AT trudging through snow - all with plastic bricks and natural light. No Hollywood budget needed! Alexander's secret? Using real landscapes and clever camera tricks to make LEGO come alive.

We had a quick chat with Alexander about his LEGO photo adventures. Read on for his fun tips, stories, and plans for future projects. Warning: you might want to grab your LEGO sets after this!

When Alexander started, he just wanted to learn photography by using LEGO as a fun subject. He said, “I treated photography as one of my life projects. LEGO scenes were my playground - they let me practice tricks like composition and lighting while having a blast recreating crash scenes from my childhood.”

Alexander’s trick? Know what your LEGO models are supposed to be. “Placing them right, imagining crashes and damage, makes the photos believable. And hey, LEGO never complains if you break it for a cool shot!”

Sometimes he just plops LEGO in the snow and shoots random angles. Other times, he plans shots like a mini movie director. Both ways have got him some top-notch pics.

To make tiny LEGO look huge, Alexander uses long camera lenses and funny angles - shooting from low or high to hide anything that screams “tiny.” It’s all about fooling your eyes!

“Plastic can get shiny in the sun, but snow is forgiving,” Alexander says. He tweaks the lighting and uses editing to keep those pesky glares in check.

Snow and sand are Alexander’s fave backgrounds because they mimic real landscapes on a small scale. Sand dunes? Tiny beach waves! Snowbanks? Whole mountain ranges! It’s a mini world dressed up perfectly.

Outdoor LEGO shoots come with weird challenges - like freezing fingers and wobbly models. Alexander joked about trying to press the shutter button with numb fingers and wishing gloves let him move LEGO better.

His biggest photo win? A crashed X-Wing that started as a total fail. Changing angles last minute turned it into a viral shot. Lesson: sometimes the best pics come from goofing around!
