Hey! Here's a quick peek into Oleksandra Malyshko’s life, an artist hanging tough in Dnipro, Ukraine. Her city’s right next to the front lines but still keeps that spark alive.
This winter? Brutally cold. So cold your fingers freeze mid-paint. Power? Only for about 1.5 to 3 hours each day, barely enough time to catch your breath, let alone get creative. When the lights flicker on, it’s a mad dash to do all the things.
Oleksandra still paints away, joins exhibitions, and dreams up new projects. She’s even baking her own bread to save cash for art supplies! Talk about dedication.
Lately, she’s mixing oil paints with pastels for some cool textures and flaming flowers. A new style bloomin’ right where it’s dark.
Want to check out her bright sparks from winter’s shadows? Dive in below.
She’s open to making friends, so hit her up on Instagram or Facebook if you want to say hi. Oh, and she’s sharing snaps from a cool art show dedicated to a legendary Ukrainian poet. Art as escape? Yes, please!
