Sometimes a photo hits right in the feels. It might be a look, a smile, or just something honest and unfiltered. These pics freeze more than just time - they tell stories of love, grit, and all the messy stuff in between.
Some stories are tough, though. Like a young woman from India who faced a terrible acid attack. She once hated photos but now says her pictures show strength, not pain.
She told us about a guy who wouldn’t take no for an answer, stalking her even when she was totally focused on her exams. Eventually, she stood her ground, but things took a scary turn.
Walking home one day, she was attacked with acid. The pain was horrific, but the hardest part was seeing herself in the mirror after. It changed everything.
At first, she avoided cameras completely. Photos reminded her of the pain. But over time, with support and some serious inner strength, she flipped the script.
Therapy helped her see that her photos don’t show damage - they show a survivor. Now, she uses photography to tell a story of resilience and hope.
She wants other survivors to know: scars don’t cancel your beauty or your strength. Healing takes time, but it’s very much possible.
Sadly, acid attacks still happen, even if less often than before. But survivors keep pushing forward, battling stigma and reclaiming their lives.
