We chatted with Jennifer Latour, the clever artist behind these wild floral photos. It all kicked off in 2020 during lockdown when she started messing around with flowers at home in a funky style called Freakabana - think Japanese minimalism meets weird and wonderful objects.
Pretty soon, it wasn’t just a hobby. Jennifer started dreaming about giant flowers popping up everywhere, and yeah, that inspired her big time.
What began as flower fun turned into a quest to conquer fears and push limits. When travel opened again, Jennifer took her flower game outside. Now, she’s making art with plants she finds all around - gardens, shops, even gas stations. No place is off-limits!
Out in the wild, dealing with weather and nature’s fickle moods, her work took on new life. She hunts down local plants and lets them guide her creations right where she finds them.
Besides all the flower fun, Jennifer found something else on this adventure - tons of patience and a fresh take on time. She’s ready to keep making these flower sculptures until her hands say stop. So yeah, expect more magic!
