Dan's dog Blox was a total nutjob - breaking out of fences, dragging stakes around, and downright impossible to train. But one fire night, Blox turned from mischief-maker to lifesaver. As a toddler wandered toward a coiled, hissing venomous snake, my Doberman jumped in front of me and headbutted me down.

She barked for help until my mom came to scoop me up.

When I was just a tiny crawler, I somehow tipped out a loose second-story window, landing headfirst on the driveway.

I still have a bump and some bald spots, but I’m lucky to be here at all - and it’s all thanks to that brave dog.

Walking with my babysitter and her Great Pyrenees, Jesse, when a black German Shepherd charged to attack her.

Jesse lunged, grabbed the other dog by the neck, and shook it like a rag doll, breaking its neck.

That 15-second fight was unforgettable.

My dog started whining and laying on my stomach nonstop.

Turns out, I had a liver infection and was in serious pain.

The next day I was hospitalized - if not for the dog’s hints, who knows what would’ve happened.
