Wait, Animals Saving Humans? Yep, Happened A LOT!

OpticalDelusions , Jani Kantokoski Report

Dan's dog Blox was a total nutjob - breaking out of fences, dragging stakes around, and downright impossible to train. But one fire night, Blox turned from mischief-maker to lifesaver. While Dan and his brother were asleep, a candle turned into a raging fire. Blox jumped on Dan’s bed, barking nonstop, even when Dan pushed her off (twice!). She wouldn’t quit until drunk Dan finally woke up and escaped the flames.

But Blox didn’t stop there - she stood guard at the basement stairs, barking through smoke and flames so Dan’s brother knew how to get out. All of them got out safe thanks to Blox’s crazy persistence.

Later, the firemen who saved them ended up loving Blox enough to take care of her - her new family. Dan still cries over it, saying for once his rescue dog is in a better place.

Most of these heroes on paws, feathers, and hooves are dogs, cats, and even a horse. But did you know a pigeon once saved nearly 200 soldiers in WWI? Meet Cher Ami - the original feathered miracle worker.

Cher Ami was one of hundreds of British-hatched homing pigeons sent into battle because radios were chunky, phone lines got blasted, and human messengers were easy targets.

Picture this: A wild blizzard dumps 4-6 feet of snow in Baltimore. Little 8-year-old me decides to tackle a massive snow drift, thinking it’s like swimming in a pool. Spoiler: it’s not. I get stuck, freezing and crying, half a block from safety.

Meanwhile, this awesome dog notices the drama. He barks at me, then barks toward his house like he’s calling reinforcements. After a few minutes, he straight-up jumps the fence, finds me, licks my face (because dogs are pros at comfort), and starts pulling me by my jacket until his owner finds us and saves me.

Doggo got endless treats after that rescue!

At 8 years old, I was in the family room, gas clouds creeping in thanks to a faulty boiler. I zoned out watching cartoons until I passed out from the gas. But Bart, our cat, wasn’t chill. He was lying in a weird spot on the carpet - so weird my mom yelled at me. When I didn’t answer, she checked and found me passed out and foaming at the mouth.

Because Bart chose that strange spot, she found me in time and called an ambulance. Bart didn’t make it, but I’m alive because of his weird choice. Still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Lady, our dog, hated a nurse who cared for my grandma in hospice. She barked nonstop, freaked out when the nurse entered the room, and had to be forcibly pulled out of the room sometimes.

One day, my mom came home early and found the nurse yelling at grandma, who had just wet herself. Lady was standing between them, looking smug, apparently trying to stop the drama.

Mom kicked the nurse out and called hospice. We never imagined Lady's barking was an SOS against a terrible human.
