Hey, guess what? These aren't your average rugs. Debbie Lawson, a super creative artist from Scotland, makes carpets that look like animals are popping right out of them! Imagine a fox sneaking away, or a bear trying to make a run for it - except it’s all made from fancy carpets. Wild and cozy all at once!
Debbie builds her amazing sculptures using wires, tape, resin, and real carpets. The animals actually look like they’re bursting straight from the fabric. It’s like your living room turned into a secret wildlife show. Plus, Debbie's got family ties to the textile biz, giving her art some cool history vibes.

Gathering Of The Clans
Debbie told us she got the idea from a childhood moment: waiting in a drab waiting room with a boring carpet, which totally fascinated her. She’d stare at the patterns and find hidden shapes. Little did she know, she was plotting to turn rugs into wild animals all along!
Roaring Bear
Philippine Eagle
We asked why she’s so into mixing wild animals with cozy home stuff. She said the line between wild and home stuff is super blurry. History shows humans love sneaking nature into their spaces - from fancy furniture legs to patterned wallpaper. Debbie’s art is the modern version of that nature trickery.
Ozymandias
Blue Leopard
When we asked about her favorite piece, Debbie pointed to a big eagle about to take flight. She said it’s like capturing a lightning bolt of energy just before lift-off - and a shoutout to the strong women in her family chasing their own dreams.
Red Eagle
Persian Kangaroo
Her hope? That when you see her sculptures, you get a tiny spark of wonder. Maybe you’ll start imagining your own stuff coming to life. And if you let your imagination run wild for just a minute, then she nailed it.
