Turns out, a bunch of folks slap bumper stickers on their rides to shout about what they care about or who they are. And if you don’t have one that fits you? Apparently, you just haven’t found the perfect sticker yet.
Indie artists have jumped on this trend too. There’s a bumper sticker that says, "Keep Honking! I'm Listening to Alice Coltrane's 1971 Meteoric Sensation 'Universal Consciousness'" - which totally sounds like a weird-but-cool jam session on wheels.
The creator of that sticker started handing them out to friends, then suddenly was shipping hundreds every week. Who knew bumper stickers could be such a side hustle?
That little sticker sold about 8,000 copies! Enough to pay for a studio and even help with other life projects. Sticker game = strong.
Heads-up: Not all bumper sticker messages get a thumbs up from everyone. Political stickers can get folks honking... and not always in a friendly way.
Researchers found drivers are more likely to honk at rude drivers if their bumper sticker shows support for the opposite political party. Road rage just got a little more sticker-fueled!
