Fast-forward to 1997, and SixDegrees showed us how to make profiles and friends lists online. It was the OG social media!
The 2000s brought social media into everyone’s homes. Friendster kicked things off in 2002, and MySpace let you customize your page to look as wild as you wanted (okay, maybe a little TOO wild). Then came Facebook in 2004, starting at Harvard but quickly becoming the globe’s favorite way to stalk - uh, connect with - friends.
