56 Sneaky Secrets People Hide in Long-Term Relationships (Shhh!)

Bluntandfiesty , Swanky Fella / Unsplash (not the actual photo) Report

I don’t do secrets with my husband, but here’s a big one: His mom passed away quietly at home, but there was some weird stuff with water getting stuck in her throat near the end. The coroner said it was probably suffocation from the water, not breathing stopping naturally. Dad didn’t know and gave her water to make her feel better. I keep this secret because it doesn’t change that she had cancer, and some things are better left unsaid.

I’ll never tell her that her “signature dish” is actually pretty meh. It’s kinda bland and nothing to write home about. But she lights up making it and I pretend it’s the best thing ever because the joy it brings her? That’s the real flavor bomb.

So, I locked my keys in the trunk on a day trip out of state. Called hubby, he called AAA, and the guy tried all the doors first. Turns out the back passenger door wasn’t even locked! I still can’t live this one down, so it's staying a secret forever.
