Back in 2014, Luca cooked up Surrealejos, a fun mashup name of “azulejo” plus “surreal.” The tiles keep the classic grid look but get filled with all sorts of oddballs - big googly eyes, mouths leading to other worlds, and hearts that look like they’re actually pumping. He often starts with a collage, then bakes the tile in a kiln, and sometimes frames the finished piece like a tiny painting. Unique, huh?
