That Time a Mom Tried to Trade Her Middle Seat for My Bulkhead Aisle

That Time a Mom Tried to Trade Her Middle Seat for My Bulkhead Aisle

jukeboxgraduate92 , acinar13 Report

So there I was, on a 5-hour cross-country flight with the holy grail of seats: a bulkhead aisle with extra legroom (yes, I had paid for this because I’m tall). Next to me was a kid in the middle, and an adult by the window. Boarding starts, and here comes "Entitled Parent" asking me to switch seats because she wants to sit next to her kid.

Me: "Where’s your seat?"
EP: "Towards the back, a middle seat."
Me: "No way. I paid extra for this legroom. Middle seat? Nope."

Then the guilt trip starts: "How could you deny a mom sitting next to her son?" Um, how about don’t expect me to trade a throne for a shoebox?

I just ignored the drama and took my seat. The kicker? Turns out the kid was sitting with his dad anyway! So much for their plan.

The Parents Who Thought Having a Baby Got Them Free Business Class

The Parents Who Thought Having a Baby Got Them Free Business Class

    Pixelskaya , Vinh Lâm Report

Imagine hopping on a small 3-hour flight and flying Business Class just by luck. That was me, chillin’, when I noticed a woman with a tiny baby in front row of economy, her husband sneaking in frequently to visit. The dad kept popping in every 10 minutes - blocking flight attendants and causing a ruckus.

Turns out, they’d booked seats in both Business and Economy, hoping the airline would let them sit together “because baby.” Flight attendant politely busted their plan, telling them to both sit in Economy. Cue the meltdown. Loud accusations and threats of complaints while the baby angel stayed calm as a cucumber.

😂 Best part? The baby was a total champ - felt like a 12-hour flight with that kid could be doable, if only the parents stayed home!

Mom and Kid Try the Classic 'Seat Swap' Trick Then Get Shut Down Big Time

Mom and Kid Try the Classic 'Seat Swap' Trick Then Get Shut Down Big Time

    Theivil1 , Oleg Prachuk Report

Long-haul work trip, 14 hours of pure torture ahead. I managed to score a sweet aisle seat and was ready to snooze when Entitled Mom (EM) eyes me and asks if I’ll swap seats with her kid. I say, “Why don’t you just sit with your kid?” She says, “Nah, my plan is to make the lady next to you swap too so we can all sit together.”

She shakes the poor groggy lady awake to get her in on the scam, but I’m having none of it. Told EM she can buzz off because I’m exhausted.

Then, little kid (EK) tries to sweet-talk me for my handheld game while I’m *trying* to sleep. I rope in a flight attendant, who immediately smells the BS and upgrades me to Premium Economy. Mic drop.

The Grandma, The Mom, and The ‘Seat Thief’ Drama on a 10-Hour Flight

The Grandma, The Mom, and The ‘Seat Thief’ Drama on a 10-Hour Flight

    nurseadeleigh , metod_ma Report

10-hour flight, exit row window seat paid for and ready to binge Netflix, when the grandma and mom dream team show up asking me to give up my seat for the granddaughter. The kid throws a full-on tantrum, aisle blocking and all, and grandma drops the ultimate “There’s a place in hell for people like you” line.

I calmly show boarding pass receipts, and the flight attendant confirms it’s my seat. Mom insists I stole the ticket, but nope - I just booked first and planned ahead. Flight continues with many silent dirty looks. Grandma even tries to spill my drink (rude!).

Lesson? Book your seats early and hold your ground!

When a Woman Tried to Steal Our First Class Seats — and Failed Miserably

    NonTuus , kelvn_photo Report

Me and my sister were living the luxe life in first class on a family trip to Florida, when along comes Entitled Mom (EM) and her brat son claiming some “ticket mix-up.” She yells and causes a scene, tries to pull receipts out but won’t show them, and cues the classic “like we practiced” line.

Tantrum mode activated. Flight crew calls the bluff, tells her to buzz off back to economy, and that was the last we saw of EM and brat.

Score one for ticket holders who play by the rules!

Why the madness? Flying’s become a torture test. Tiny legroom, endless delays, and random new rules from flight crews? It’s like a real-life game of patience - and not a fun one.

When Entitled Parent Thinks My First Class Seat Is Their Birthright

When Entitled Parent Thinks My First Class Seat Is Their Birthright

    Level_Neighborhood96 , Paul Hanaoka Report

After a brutal 24 hours at the airport during holiday season storms, I finally boarded my first class seat with zero patience left. Suddenly a mom asks me to give it up because she forgot to book a toddler ticket (tsk, tsk).

She plants her kid in the empty seat next to me, glares, and tells me I’m heartless for saying no. She even instructs her kid to be as loud and obnoxious as possible. Yeah, no thanks.

After I snapped with a curse, a kind flight attendant knocked some sense into her with a polite, “Sit down, or you’re off this flight.” Silence! Finally.

Sometimes you gotta fight for your comfort - especially when you paid for first class.

Here’s a wild one! Family with a toddler insists Dad swaps seats so he can sit with them. Dad says sure... then switches the plan and asks me to take Mom’s awful middle seat instead. Uh, no way I’m trading my aisle for a screaming toddler’s domain.

Dad freaks out, blocking the aisle and raising his voice. Flight attendant steps in, asks to see tickets, and promptly escorts me up to the better seat. Byeeee!

Booked my fave window seat months in advance for a 5-hour flight - hello naps and views! Then a lady and her teen son ask me to swap so he can have the view. I politely say no, and suddenly I’m ‘difficult’ for, you know, actually planning ahead.

Heading home from Brazil, this stranger with his child asked if I’d give up my window seat (which I paid extra for). Told him sorry, no way. He stared daggers, probably hoping a flight attendant would swoop in and make me move.

The Mom Who Tried to Steal My Pre-Selected Seats With Her Big Hair Flip

    Cassie_121 Report

Flying cross-country with two toddlers, I picked and paid extra for a whole row to myself. Strapped baby to me, backpack packed, diaper bag in hand - ready! Then an entitled mom and her son were chilling in my seats like it was a lounge.

Me: "Excuse me, these are our seats - we pre-selected and paid for them."
EM: "Nope, open seating here, and I got here first."

After a quick call to the flight attendant, she reluctantly packed up and called me entitled (classic!). FA praised me for handling it like a pro. That’s how you fly with toddlers, folks!

And here’s the kicker: Airlines say seat swapping is a “maybe” - only if the crew says yes. So it’s always your call. No one can make you give up a seat you paid for, even if they have tiny humans with them.

The Mombie Who Claimed an Extra Seat Because ‘I Have a Baby!’

    a_hanging_thread , lucas Favre Report

On a cramped cross-country flight, mombie with a lap monster (aka an 18-month-old kiddo) awkwardly occupies a middle aisle seat and then decides the adjacent aisle seat is hers, too. Steward asks her to sit back down. She yells about her baby and freaks at the idea of sitting next to a dude with a huge dog in the row.

Steward pulls a smooth move, gives the old man a free first-class upgrade, lets the dog dad have the whole row, and shuffles mombie way back. Baby still fussed, but at least the rest of us flew in peace!
