Hey! Today, we're spilling the tea on those "green flags" that totally turned out to be red flags. Ready? Let’s jump straight into the madness.

He seemed so devoted to me. Even my friends said so. He became my stalker when I left. Beware extreme devotion.
Green flag -- has a close relationship with their Mom.
Red flag -- tells their Mom too much about your relationship, lets Mom interfere in private matters, and won't defend you because they always pick her side.
People pleasing. They seem so generous and considerate, but once you get to know them you realize it can come from a place of anxiety and that they are (unconsciously) manipulating people to like them, they can have trouble saying (or even knowing) what they need, they'll create covert contracts and resent you for not reading their minds, they won't be able to set boundaries with others, etc.
Always wanting to do exciting stuff. Eventually you're going to have a boring day where you need to cope with being bored or create a conversation without having something around you to talk about.
They’re friends with everyone. At first, it seems great. They’re social, outgoing, and easy to get along with. You think it’s awesome.
Then you realize they can never truly be your friend because everything you say somehow gets out. You can’t confide in them. If there’s a disagreement, everyone thinks you’re the problem because everyone knows them. Basically, a friend to all is a friend to none.
Recent one for me: he had nearly all the same interests, causes, values, hobbies as I did.
I thought it was meant to be.
Turns out he was just mirroring me after stalking all my socials and old posts. To this day, I have no idea who this man truly is. Creepy, right?
Went out of his way to make sure everyone knew he was a feminist. He was not and wanted to trap women with his antics.
Lots of “therapy speak.” Sounds like emotional awareness at first, but too much can be a flashy way to say, “I’m better than you.”
Excessive romance and love bombing. It’s a sign they may not be connected to reality or will cycle through emotions quickly. Not always bad - but heads up!
Green flag 💚 - very social, happy, overly positive, can work any room.
Red flag ❤️ - loves the attention too much, flirts around for validation, always needs to be the center of everyone's world.
How confident they are. Usually in my experience this just turns into being extremely prideful.
Sometimes work ethic falls into this zone. Early on, they look heroic, going above and beyond. Later, you find out they’re a workaholic.
Being low maintenance or just wanting to “go with the flow” can seem refreshing at first, but it ends up meaning more work for someone else. Decisions need making, and it’s annoying when only one person does it.
Communication matters! If both are happy, cool. Otherwise, resentment hits hard.
Extreme attentiveness sometimes starts sweet but often turns into controlling behavior and frustration when you want space.
Coming over too affectionate at a very early stage, and wanting to be with you all the time, not wanting you to hang out with anyone else. Sounds sweet? Nope, it's the thin end of a controlling wedge.
Some major cheaters seem like sweet, playful guys who want to be friends with everyone - especially women. It’s not always bad, but watch out when their 'closest friends' start disappearing. They need constant validation and attention.
Someone always telling others to be kind but themselves being sketchy enough to get away with the worst stuff. Everyone else thinks "but they're so kind!"
Super motivated people climbing up social rungs, abandoning friends for 'better' ones. Ambition's cool until it gets ruthless.
My boyfriend is a chronic people pleaser. He loves making everyone happy but often ignores his own needs. Dinner decisions? He rarely says no. It’s cute but exhausting for both of us.
Green Flag: Agreeable, everyone likes them.
Red Flag: Avoids conflict, lets problems slide, and lets people get hurt to keep the peace.
They say life’s never been better since you entered it - flattering, but sometimes it just means they’re really lonely.
"White knighting" or "virtue signaling" can often mean they’re overcompensating for not-so-great traits.
They share too many interests or fake interest in yours...then you realize they don’t have their own identity. Tricky!
Your strongest traits can sometimes backfire. The real kicker? Being willing to learn and grow.
When you get close crazy fast. You know them for one day, then it feels like soulmates. They share 'deep things,' are vulnerable, and it’s like a high.
Not just romance - friendships too! Usually love bombing. Masters at reading your weaknesses and lying. Then they use your secrets against you. Beware.
People pleasers, especially guys, seem super agreeable but often hide true feelings and resent others.
Being a people pleaser - they'll throw your needs under the bus to be liked.
Being calm all the time - you'll struggle to get them invested or passionate.
Being nice to everyone means they want to be liked real bad. They won’t have your back if it means upsetting someone else. They’re great for hanging out, but not for tough times.
Being super into you right away, lavishing affection and grand gestures feels great, but sometimes it’s a red flag for narcissism. Lots of flattery, little actual care, just manipulation.
